Visualising Social Media Influence

What about a visualisation of all the major influencers in a particular event or conflict?
Spreading the word can be about making everyone feel like they were a part of the issue and revealing the networks of support available.

In Kovas Boguta's beautiful visualisation, he shows the twitter individuals who were most influential in their tweets about the Egyptian uprising.

Perhaps to spread the word, we need an image that includes everyone and makes everyone feel empowered to do something.

I really like the visual aspect of this idea, visuals are innately powerful in themselves. I also like the consideration of the elements of empowerment and inclusion.

I am a student at wells college and work in the innovation lab. This is an interesting concept because it also involves a type of model, similar to prototyping, and is a new way to present information and empower activists.

This is a very interesting concept. Empowerment is one great idea to keep people motivated and get them to post. This idea can also show area's geographically where the word might not be getting out and thus possible ways to improve getting the word out.

Hi Haiyan, great inspiration and topic, and a very imminent one too.
It reminds me of a documentary I recently went to the premiere of here in Stockholm, about the Arab uprising. It revolved around 5 young individuals who were taking center stage in the uprising by fighting for free speech and using the internet to fight injustice, despite all the danger in blogging and documenting their opinion to the world.

It's very worth reading / watching into. The link is here: http://zerosilence.org/
