Mike Dearmon's canny Decode the Codes concept from the Vibrant Cities Challenge (now with updated video intro!)

As we hurtle towards the festive season, OpenIDEO collaborators continue to innovate, ideate and interact on the Vibrant Cities Challenge. We're amped to see the recent abundance of concepts which enable and empower folk at the grassroots – as we saw so many rich examples of bottom-up innovation during our Inspiration phase. With the Concepting phase going through to the New Year, we hope you'll find some time to chime in between seasonal revelry and relaxation.

Students at NYU Poly have certainly been busy and last week held a final presentation and exhibition which included their collaborative class input on our Amnesty Challenge. Ashley and Nathan, from our own OpenIDEO Team, joined them via Skype and were excited to see all the additional class activity which had happened off line. We've been especially in awe of their passionate professor, Anne-Laure Fayard, who many of you will have encountered on OpenIDEO. We look forward to even more university classes and chapters joining us next year!

Elsewhere at a university in Tokyo, we've had collaborators join us and brainstorm together for recent challenges. This month's Featured OpenIDEATOR, Midori Kurokawa, was part of the ICU Tokyo OpenSTORM on the Amnesty Challenge. We're super-psyched about the global goodness pouring in from across our community and look forward to the diverse ideas and conversations which will thrive from your collaboration!
