Getting Ready to Roll at the Ideas Festival

OpenIDEO Team members hit Queensland this week – Australia's Sunshine State – where we will be presenting the Local Food Challenge to an audience of policy-makers, food producers, retailers, researchers, educators, innovators, community connectors at the Ideas Festival. Together, over two days of workshops, we'll be exploring behaviour change, commercial benefit, environmental performance, health impact, community engagement, scalability and funding avenues – alongside feasibility and implementation of the awesome shortlisted Local Food Challenge concepts.

OpenIDEO's co-founder, Tom Hulme, will be presenting How Do You Engage Those of the Edge – celebrating the power of participation. IDEO's Chief Creative Officer, Paul Bennett, will be provoking the crowd with Global Problem Solving: Can Small x Many = Big – confronting traditional interpretations of design to reveal how design thinking could be employed to address future social, ecological and political challenges.

We're amped to be representing our shortlisted OpenIDEATORS and the wider community from which their concepts rose. There's been a flurry of activity as we collate, categorise and co-ordinate. It feels great to be amplifying the wealth of collaborative talent that has emerged from this spirited challenge.
