Grameen Social Business Challenge: Winners Announced

After a dynamic, collaborative and super-charged sprint, the Grameen Social Business Challenge has raced to the finish line.

Over the course of this 6-week challenge, our clever community contributed over 290 Inspirations and almost 100 Concepts to improve health in low-income communities. Together, seasoned OpenIDEATORS joined forces with fresh and enthusiastic new community members to share stories, build upon each others’ ideas, and explore solutions for improved health in Caldas, Colombia and around the world. And once again, you knocked our socks off!

To choose the winning ideas, the OpenIDEO team connected with our friends from Grameen Creative Lab in Caldas for a virtual chat. We started out by reviewing the Evaluation phase results as determined by your votes and feedback. We also spent some time talking more generally about which of the Top 20 ideas we believed had the highest potential to directly impact health in low-income communities.

We’re thrilled with the final ideas, and we hope you are too! So without further ado, here are your 10 Winning Social Business Challenge Concepts:

Franchise Health Clinic Network by Architecture Commons
Roving Healthcare Workers by Cara O’Shell

On behalf of the Grameen Creative Lab in Caldas, Colombia, we want to say a huge thank you and congratulations to our entire OpenIDEO community. In fact, GCL and Professor Muhammad Yunus are so excited about your collective collaboration that they sent a special thank you video – check it out!

As for the OpenIDEO Team, we were so impressed by your optimism, your desire to learn about social business and your eagerness to create innovative ideas to improve health in Caldas and around the world.

Congratulations and see you soon in our next challenge!

Cheers,
The OpenIDEO Team
