Japanese Modern Sitting Toilet

Johan's nice overview of European automatic washing/sanitizing reminds me about the Japanese take on the modern sitting toilet: special toilet slippers for use in the bathroom, automatic cleaning and drying down below, re-use of handwashing water for flushing, etc. Learn more here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJazvumHNyk
Although these expensive toilets may not make sense in low-income communities, the culture of hygiene, re-use of outputs like greywater, and low-touch sanitizing, could all be beneficial in these contexts.

yes, great! thank you very much, vincent!
I do know about these hi-tech-toilets in Japan.
And I also know that many models have a recorded natural sound of a flushing toilet, so the user can press a button to make that noise drown out any eventual "embarrasing" human-made sounds.
Seems like they used to flush a lot if they thought any other person was very near, just to camouflage what they did in the bathroom.
So using a little electricity and a recorded noise do save a lot of water!!!
Can you think of other gadgets or functions that would help shy people using the facility and cleaning their hands properly?
