How might we increase the availability of affordable learning tools & services for students in the developing world?
Congratulationsto all our contributors!terms and conditions
Build affordable transportation to help children get to schoolBy using local resources children can build their own transportation in schools. By doing that they will learn basic manufacturing techniques, gain skills in math and construction and help themselves to go to school faster and easier.
In addition all skills they need to build this vehicle, will be taught by local teachers, trained by external professionals. They will learn basic manufacturing techniques, math, construction and teamwork.
Who would implement this?
- A local entrepreneur or small organization
By using local resources and materials, costs would be relatively low. Mechanical parts that are not as easy available, could be donated. It also would be a possibility to recycle bikes and send those parts to 3rd world countries.
Distribution & Delivery
Sending voluntary professionals to train local teachers, so the community is not depending on external skills and develops themselves. After integrating the program in schools external professionals would leave.
When people see kids using the vehicle on road, they gain immediate attention and interest. The use of the object should be self-explaining.
