Adults as Citizen Mentors/Teachers

Citizen Schools, pairs volunteer adults, w/ expertise/experiences, & school children to explore new areas, build practical skills, & create hands-on projects (from farming to programming), increasing active engagement of both students & adults in education. ~4.5K students & ~4K volunteers partner each year increasing apprentice student attendance, grades, & graduation. For Affordable Private Schools, what ways are there to involve adults in the community, besides as full-time teachers or school fee payers?
