Planting Early Seeds of Impact

September 19, 2011, 09:54PM
As a community, we’ve all got impact on the brain these days; specifically how each of us can bring positive change to our own local areas through actions both big and small.

In many ways, achieving impact is like planting a seed and watching it grow. It takes water, sunlight, time and a little care to turn a sapling into a tree – and the same could be said for taking the ideas we design together and turning them into real world impact!

Prototyping is one way of planting a seed and seeing how it grows. The OpenIDEO team has talked quite a bit about prototyping lately, and we were incredibly inspired to see the early prototypes that took shape during our Impact Challenge – including Sarah’s OpenTranslate Google Doc, Avi’s Design Challenge Card, and Anne and Arjan’s Small Act of Goodness collaboration.

Please visit their concept pages and congratulate them on a job well done!
