How might we better connect food production and consumption?
Evaluation
The Evaluation Phase is turning into quite the tasty dish! We've decided to extend the phase just a bit to give everyone the chance to weigh in on our Top 20 shortlist.
At the heart of this challenge lie issues of global sustainability and local happiness as ways to improve life for rural and urban communities. While our primary focus is Queensland Australia we are also looking for ideas that might have global impact given how universally felt this problem is.
Please take the time to evaluate the wonderful concepts and check back in on Thursday 9th of June when we announce the winners and move across to the Realisation Phase.
Qld-LoFE: the Queensland Local Food Exchange
The Queensland Local Food Exchange is a food exchange modeled after better known stock exchanges. Producers can register their crops/produce and consumers can buy directly from the producers. Prices, of course, will vary with supply and demand.

The Farmer and The Chef
Instead of having food festivals and farmers markets separate from one another, how about pair farmers and food vendors side-by-side at a combined farmers and food market, where chefs cook up tasty meals built from the farmer's bounty.
