The Concepting phase of our Maternal Health challenge is where we ask the community to submit your fresh ideas in response to the challenge headline. The phase has now closed and we'll move on to applause, refinement and evaluation.

SMARTmoms
SMARTmoms is a smartphone centric program designed to bring pregnant mothers together in support groups where they learn about pregnancy, neo-natal care, health and other pregnancy related topics. The program has multiple societal benefits, including training a wide population base in pregnancy-care and general health.

Phone/IVR-Based "Midwife School"
Building on the ideas so far using SMS or touch-screen applications, why not also consider an IVR equivalent to educate/train potential midwives within a community on how to diagnose and monitor signs and symptoms?
