QR code amulet triggers timed maternal health calls to mom's phone

A QR code amulet issued to the mom upon conception triggers delivery of timed maternal health calls to the mom's phone.
A QR code amulet issued to the mom upon conception triggers delivery of timed maternal health calls to the mom's phone (incoming calls to cellphones in India are free). The QR code can also be used by the CHW to track the mom's pregnancy and the maternal health calls can be customized to her specific condition.

This is a practical application of a developed technology. The hardware, Teknocharm, needs to be made available to the ones it benefits.

Thanks Krassimira - yes, the HCW would provide the QR amulet. The mom would still meet with the HCW regularly but the calls to her (prerecorded, automatic) would be customized according to the latest data collected by the HCW since (incoming calls are free).

Avi, I think this is a fantastic idea! Couple of question: The HCW would be the one to provide the mother with the amulet, right? the way to track how the pregnancy evolves is by giving the expectant mom calls, right? so, the only way for the HCW to figure out if anything is wrong is to rely on the mom-to-be information? Let me know ur thoughts...

Nice, to give you a little more elaboration on the "minimum level of technology" I have tested the open-source zxing on ~$70 nokia phones like the 2700c and it works but it does need good lighting and as the cameras on lower end phones don't have an autofocus you need to keep the camera and the qr code still - but very workable. Nice idea. Provides some confidentiality also.
