ClickDiagnostics: affordable mHealth platform
Click Diagnostics is a global mobile health social enterprise founded by international development activists from Harvard University and MIT to create a comprehensive mHealth ecosystem. Their platform is aimed at 1. connecting health service providers, 2. reducing cost of service delivery, and 3. optimally utilizing tiers of existing health system for patient care. Each community health-worker or a clinic nurse with a Click-enabled mobile phone is able to act as the primary agent for service delivery, as she is connected to the mHealth platform and the entire health system.
The platform is comprised of modules for:
- Medical services (primary care triage, risk-screening and tele-consultation),
- Patient management (electronic medical record, referral service and emergency response),
- Administrations and planning (mobile accounting, remote monitoring, real-time data collection), and
- Purchasing (mPayment) and financing (micro-insurance) of healthcare services
Since 2008, they have been able to implement mobile-phone based tele-consultation services in many countries of Africa, South Asia, and the Americas.
