Nokia's Ovi Life Tools
Launched in India during 2009 in response to research showing that nearly half of emerging market customers would rather connect to the Internet over a mobile phone than via a computer. An inspiration from the good folk over at Nokia – Ovi Life Tools enables customers to connect to the internet via mobile phone, thus providing access to important Agricultural, Educational and Healthcare information as well as an Entertainment service all via their Nokia mobile phone. The service strives to improve the quality of life for those in emerging markets. For instance, the service provides farmers in developing countries with accurate and regular information on weather and availability of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and prevailing market prices for produce. Ovi Life Tools also enables families to access health and nutritional information through the Healthcare service, and enables its users to even learn English through the Educational offering of Ovi Life Tools. Ovi Life Tools is available in India, Indonesia, and China and also includes the recent launch of the service in November 2010 in Nigeria, Africa. As of December 2010, nearly 9 million people have experienced Ovi Life Tools primarily across India, Indonesia and China.
