Buy Locally, Connect Locally

This is a concept video I created in graduate school. My idea is buying locally helps you connect with others invested in supporting local economies and communities, which is beneficial, rewarding and ultimately a lifestyle we should all adopt.
This video shows how we can encourage people to foster local activities, support local economies as well as get rewarded through a mobile application and digital platform.

I would like to insist in terms of identity and cultural backgrouds. I believe that the people feel proud and generate a sensation of being part of somewhere.
Along the way is to improve the traditional production and becoming good and succesfull in certain product to have a "face" on the market, creating a social responsability for the local people.

Cool concept. I like the idea of earning points to be used for other community events such as shows etc. What else could you get points for within a community? perhaps teaching someone a trade or skill? perhaps there could be different points earned for various main categories. Food, teaching, volunteering etc. very unique concept!

You should build upon this inspiration with the skill share link you posted - Great link! I think by inspiring, and teaching community members leads to more job opportunities as people open there eyes to what is possible. Jobs in my eyes are the key to starting the vibrancy rebuilding process.
