What's also exciting to see is that local Detroit restaurants like Russell Street Deli are buying their produce from these urban farms. The urban farm effort is also helping to optimize the vacant spaces that are prevalent throughout out the downtown area. In my opinion, this is a great example of local residents working together to share their resources and space as part of a mutually supportive and interdependent system.
