Integrate nature into the City - Base on FLW's Broadacre City
Base on FLW's model of the city, can we think about rejuvenating Detroit not by the tradition paradigm that intense is better? Can we create nodes of urban activities, nature/ruins and weave them together into a sustainable urban design? What if we imagine nature reemerging from the ruins? Where space and structure is not used, we can repurpose existing infrastructure into sustainable devices ruins that collect rain water for reuse, feedback into the system? Abandoned roads and plot be allowed to grow back into it's natural state, substantial part of the city can be designated as "park." Along the lines of 18/19th century England where mock ruins are part of park design. Detroit can become a front-runner in becoming a sustainable city while conserving infrastructural expenses.
