Motor City
Will the Motor City be redefined? The city has a rich history. What about its future? The video that this was built upon really struck me. (You all should watch it). I was about to post this commercial as a hopeful connection of Detroit's future to its past. Chrysler makes the Motor City appear regal. Is it though? At the end of the previous video, the reporter mentions a proposition to make Detroit into the first city with a green economy. Perhaps the city needs a new nickname too.
City pride, and a draw for tourism at least might bring some sort of money and hope back to this town. Fifteen minutes ago I thought that pride could start with a Motor City revival. but now I'm rethinking that.
Is a complete remodel necessary? Would it even help? Should the car businesses transition to energy efficient buildings where they engineer bikes that charge cellphones and electric cars? That would certainly be a different kind of Motor City. Or maybe the first Green City. (as the narrator says, in its current state, it's "certainly no one's Emerald City")
