Night market

Close down the heart of the city on a Sunday night and invite everyone to a beautiful night market. That is what Chiang Mai, Thailand does. Sunday after Sunday after Sunday.

Close down the centre of the city from Sunday afternoon to late. Bring out everything you can imagine in terms of local crafts, performances, food, clothes, paintings.. Add tourists, locals, students and essentially what seems like the entire city and some and you have a fantastic and vibrant happening.

Do it every Sunday and you have a great attraction that seems like it attracts tourists by itself.

The atmosphere is amazing and it is a great way to spend an otherwise slow Sunday afternoon/evening.

Great Idea, there's nothing quite as depressing as a city that's seems to be deserted after sun down. Chiang Mai is a beautiful city and having a night market allows the town's identity to shine out from arts and crafts, cuisine, music, and entertainment. Tourists can also interact with the locals in a more relaxed setting.
