Free to Public Exercise Programs, NYC Parks
Physical activity is a great way to bring vibrancy into public spaces and to promote public health at the same time! Numerous organizations in New York City provide free exercise programs in the cities great parks. Free yoga classes are very popular and draw huge crowds to Bryant and Central Park. Small groups organize morning tai chi in small parks throughout Queens. New York City Parks & Rec has a massive schedule of free classes offered throughout the year. All of these programs serve to to get people of all ages and incomes active, connecting them with their environments and neighbors. And it doesn't require anything except for a teacher with time.
