Support Independence
An important focus for our challenge is identifying ways that people with disabilities and other limitations can cast their ballot privately and independently. How might we design new tools, resources or processes that enable any voter to cast a ballot independently, without the help of a trusted friend – or potentially a stranger – to cast their ballot for them?
How might we use technology to encourage and enable independence among voters? Think about tools that can support voters as they learn about elections and cast their ballots: things that make polling places more accessible, that offer translation or language services on the spot, or that present ballots in new formats, textures or styles.
