Highly efficient methods of growing food locally, like sub-irrigated planters, drip irrigation and simplified hydroponics, already exist and enjoy grass roots adoption. The challenge is to help spread these practices to people who need them the most. In an unstable world, efficiently growing food locally provides a true oasis of security. Our connected world offers a unique opportunity to rapidly propagate knowledge of efficient food production methods to enable people to lift themselves up from poverty with dignity and health.
