I am a self-taught cook and foodie that has been interested in food since I was a teenager. All my life I have consumed vast amounts of delicious savory foods and confections. However, one night I was making brownies in the middle of the night by memory and realized I was killing myself. It was my mission to throw out everything in my head I thought was good and realize my life was filled with poisons. I started to clean up my recipes and get back to the basics of cooking. I became consumed by the realization that simple is best. All my friends and relatives are amazed by the wholesome, simple, and healthy recipes I have created and are quickly returning to normality. Until each person in the world has a self realization that capitalism is killing us, then we can learn to live a clean and simple life once again.
With the help of some professional chefs in San Antonio, Texas; we are now going to make a difference. We have come up with an organization called Eat Smart. The concept is to help San Antonians take food back into their own hands. Our first public demonstrations will be this winter in December. We will first work with some non-profit organizations to show their participants and staff different recipes that are simple, viable, and healthy. Our goal is to teach people how to shop for fresh ingredients in the supermarket and local farmers markets. We want to show that less is more (more flavorful, more satisfying, and will provide more life).
I believe change in a child's eating habits starts with the adults. It is a basic psychological concept of conditioning. Adults are very influential and once we can affect then to change their thinking on food (its convenience, likability, and health), then they will pass that knowledge down to their children. As a very influential speaker once said, "food is not the enemy." I believe we are our own enemy and we can only win this war on obesity with knowledge.
