Evidence Trail

Take a picture of the class's individual lunches once a week, different days (no names or identification). Display and discuss the contents (at an appropriate level) and then choose a 'winner' (based on varying criteria so improvement can be acknowledged). Sent the child's lunch image home, plus the 'winner' image.

In Australia the government has funded a kitchen garden program that requires it to be incorporated in the curriculum. Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. There are currently 139 participating schools.
