Preventative Medicine: Reward Sanitary Practices!

Open defecation and human waste disposal is gravely unsanitary. It's practice can contaminate drinking water and soil and cause disease and illness to quickly spread throughout a community. What if people in poor communities were paid to practice proper sanitation?

Johan, Hi there! Thanks for the note.Yes... as much as I love IDEO and OpenIDEO and contributing ideas to the great challenges here... I have to focus my limited time and (very limited:)) brain power on projects and work that will pay the bills. An unfortunate situation we all have to struggle with I guess. But, yes, in recent months I have had to turn my attention to finding solutions to things that people pay me to work on. Not always as fun or altruistic as the OpenIDEO challenges... but the bill collector is a cruel master!:) Hopefully, though, I will be able to find some free time in the future to contribute an idea or two again. Until then I will just have to be content with watching all the other great ideas stream in. And hope that someone wants to hire me to work on important challenges like those on OpenIDEO.:) I will keep you posted as to when I can get back into the OpenIDEO mix. Thanks again for the note!

Demian posted a brilliant agenda concept on he i20 Innovation Challenge which attracted interesting commentary. His winning question was raised in the White House presentation.
