"A people person with a flair for design, innovation, and creativity"

I may be the anti-engineer engineer. I love technical problem solving and engineering situations as much as anyone, but I put forth my best when I get to be involved with other dynamic people. Self discovery is a huge part of my life and I love learning new and interesting things about everyone and everything, including myself. I'm the guy who smiles just because other people are. Lighthearted moods are obviously like viruses for me; contagious when exposed out in the open.

Hands-on could be the best way to define me. I don't say that just because I love working with tools and building things, but I strive to have an in-depth and interactive connection with everything I do, both personally and professionally. Outside of academics and profession, I enjoy turning the pedals on the bike, skiing, endless outdoors activities, regular exercise, and an overall zest for life. High energy and enthusiasm are my second and third middle names. Unfortunately, I have a difficult time turning these two characteristics off.

Does High Quality Caffeine Equal Vibrancy; I Think So

Wherever I live or wherever I go, the most vibrant parts of town are those with at least one or two awesome gathering spots for coffee. I have seen this case in places I have lived and places I have visited with equal frequency.

Transposing Small Town Values to the Big City

Vibrancy is often reflected in how the people of a certain town or city come together at certain times. These times seem to always be one not directly related to industry or heavy commerce. How can we improve this in places like Detroit, MI.

Getting Active in Maize and Blue Country

One has to love a town where the residents are active and involved in the community. Not just the usual high-energy crowd, but a place in which every person seems to be out and about somewhere at some time. It all begins with walking around.

I used to be the epitome of an introvert. According to a class assignment requiring input from those who know me well, I'm at my best when I bring out the best in those around me. Seems like this guy is steadily becoming an extrovert. I'm still a numbers guy who loves math and science and techie stuff, but is quickly developing an affinity for working with people. Any suggestions as to where I should take my career after grad school considering this??

It amazes me more every day at how enriching and rewarding it is to try to development a connection with someone. When I stop in somewhere, to say grab a coffee, my day always finds a way to get even better if I can make just a quick 30 second high quality connection with the associate taking my order.
