The early development of the social-policy interface
This issue stems from my own inspiration. In most of the projects I´ve worked in I´ve observed that the interface for the communication and information sharing between the civil society, the main socioeconomic sectors and the policy makers (including expert panels) was not developed up front. This complex step often constitutes a major constraint in the decision making processes within the projects, as its absence makes such processes top-down, hierarchical and to lack the necessary representation of the local, socioeconomic sectors and neighbourhoods. This fact ultimately erodes democracy, leads to socioeconomic inefficiencies and to (too) many competitive (often conflictive) interests.
