Pierre Johnson
"Become what you are, and be what you want the world to be"
Born on one side of the Atlantic Ocean, rose on the other, my roots are mobile, investigative and open to novelty and encounters.
Idealist at an early age, I started my real life working as a project manager and fair trade expert in Latin America for several years. I than created and coordinated an international community of practice on fair trade, with the support of a foundation. I thus had the chance to connect many social innovations actors and experiences in the early 2000's.
I contributed to the emergence of an international dialogue on the challenges of fair trade, crossing its initiatives with other challenges, such us food sovereignty, organic agriculture and sustainable development. This experience has been set up in a book, which has been translated and edited in five languages besides French (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese), and that you can find on my blog (2nd link below).
I've also participated to some online collaborative projects, such as a sustainable development encyclopedia in French, and an international wiki on solidarity economy. Intercultural dialogue and international solidarity has thus always been at the heard of my way of doing. I enjoy traveling, speaking and writing in English, French, Spanish, as well as Portuguese, a little bit of German, and tiny bits of other languages.
Today, I combine my time between consultancies and training on fair trade, international cooperation development, sustainable development, and non profit projects, such as Solecopedia, WiserEarth, and support to the development of local organic agriculture.
I believe we collective intelligence often outweighs personal idiosyncrasy, so I am here to share ideas and experiences!
