Kids creating and preserving the stories of their lives
If you've listened to public radio in the US, you may know of StoryCorps. StoryCorps is an organization that records interviews of friends and family, providing people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of their lives. It's a fascinating project, and benefits not only the people involved in the interviews, but the listener as well.
This concept will enable Indian students to record interviews of their families and friends, and help them learn English along the way, as well as record their fast-changing culture for posterity.

Leverage affluent expat community
Some parts of the Indian community abroad are very affluent. These people could be interested in donating funds to schools back in their hometowns. Their reservations in the past most likely have to do with trust, efficacy, and family politics. This concept provides wealthy expats the ability to donate a set package of items to vetted schools in a streamlined process. In return donors can receive local recognition in India, as well as a direct connection with the schools and students that they are helping.
(Pictures below are from Obama's first state dinner hosting the Indian Prime Minister .... and the Salahi's of course)

Girl Scouts Fundraising(ish)
Web site and infrastructure for Indian school children to create and sell things online to raise funds for their school. Run in a similar way to the Girl Scouts cookie fundraiser, with the exception that the students can also create whatever it is that they are selling. All selling is done online.
