Having been forcefully displaced both within and outside her home country of Libya, Maisara has immense passion for supporting those affected by forced displacement and the refugee crisis, as well as a huge desire to amplify the voices of migrants and the vulnerable. Her experience includes work with WorldReader, a global non-profit organization that provides underserved communities with the materials and resources to freely access a library of digital books, working on a mobile application (Tuta Tuta) that aims to provide emotional and educational support to vulnerable Syrian refugee children, specifically, those in the Za'atari Refugee Camp in Jordan. At her university, she serves as the First-Year International Relations Student Officer, focuses on Human Rights-related courses, and is a founder of their first Human Rights Club.
