Summer Edward is a writer, children's book editor, college educator and the editor-in-chief of Anansesem, an online magazine covering Caribbean children's and YA books. A former judge of the Golden Baobab prizes for African children's literature, she holds an M.S.Ed. degree in Reading, Writing, Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania, is a Highlights Foundation scholarship recipient, and has served as a National Writing Juror in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She grew up as a third culture kid in Trinidad and Tobago and Philadelphia, and divides her time between the two locales.
